Wa-hkan-sho (Ho-mine-sho), Chaung-gyi, Mogok Township, Pyin-Oo-Lwin District, Mandalay Region, Myanmar

The southern area of Mana-Lisu is known as Wa-hkan-sho (or Ho-mine-sho). Several mines in this area produce small quantities of ruby, sapphire and spinel. The gems are found in the alluvium using myaw-dwin and open-pit mining methods. Gem production is minimal.
