Ko-miles-le-taw, Pein-Pyit (Painpyit; Pyan Pyit), Mogok Township, Pyin-Oo-Lwin District, Mandalay Region, Myanmar

This mining area is situated in a small valley (at the 9th milepost Mogok-Momeik road), north of the Pein-pyit village. Since November 2003, a small team of miners was working an open-pit deposit mining spinel, quartz, tourmaline and other gems found in samyay byƓn from the alluvium. Most of these gems are small and of low quality.

Further north and north-east of the village of Pein-pyit, more gems and minerals are found. At Loi-sau mountain situated about 3 km east of the Pein-pyit village, gem-quality jeremejevite crystals are found. In 2005, a faceted 4.53 carats yellowish jeremejevite was sold at Htar-Pwe, the main gem market in Mogok.
