Most rocks are graphite-phlogopite marble, diopside marble and ruby-bearing marble. The thickness of the gem-bearing marble layer is about 20 cm and the associated minerals are apatite and fuchsite.
In 2004 the Mogôk Pride Company operated this deposit. Fine quality rubies
, but small size are found in the marble and were mined using gwè-dwin
method. More rubies are recovered from the alluvium in several fracture-filled deposits. Spinel
are also found in the general area.
