Shwe-daing, Mogok Valley, Mogok Township, Pyin-Oo-Lwin District, Mandalay Region, Myanmar

Most rocks are graphite-phlogopite marble, diopside marble and ruby-bearing marble. The thickness of the gem-bearing marble layer is about 20 cm and the associated minerals are apatite and fuchsite.

In 2004 the Mogôk Pride Company operated this deposit. Fine quality rubies, but small size are found in the marble and were mined using gwè-dwin method. More rubies are recovered from the alluvium in several fracture-filled deposits. Spinel, scapolite and sphene are also found in the general area.
