Yebu-kalar-gon, Mogok Valley, Mogok Township, Pyin-Oo-Lwin District, Mandalay Region, Myanmar

The mining area of Yebu-kalar-gon (Indians in Hot Water) is situated west of the main water pipe passing through the Yebu valley. Several joint venture companies are engaged in mining the soft, sandy alluvium using small scale open-pit and lebin mining methods. Most of the gems recovered are rubies, some blue sapphires, spinels, almandine and moonstone. Star rubies and star sapphires of good quality are often found.
