The mining area of Yebu-kalar-gon (Indians in Hot Water) is situated west of the main water pipe passing through the Yebu valley. Several joint venture companies are engaged in mining the soft, sandy alluvium using small scale open-pit and
lebin mining methods. Most of the gems recovered are
rubies, some blue
sapphires,
spinels,
almandine and
moonstone.
Star rubies and
star sapphires of good quality are often found.
