Himalaya Mine, Gem Hill, Mesa Grande Mining District, San Diego County, California, USA

High-quality tabular crystals of peach-orange and strawberry-rose morganite up to 12 x 10 x 7,5 cm in size are found in the Mesa Grande pegmatite field. These Cretaceous pegmatites are spatially and genetically related to the Mesozoic Southern California batholith.
